Second oral-solid packaging line commissioned

Ergopharm has commissioned a second oral-solid packaging line at its Advanced Research Centre in Vadodara, adding blister and bulk capacity to keep pace with export demand. The line has completed installation, operational and performance qualification and is now released for routine packaging under the company's pharmaceutical quality system.

The new line packs tablets and capsules from Ergopharm's oral-solids portfolio into blister and bulk configurations, running alongside the existing line to widen throughput and add redundancy. Qualification followed the standard IQ/OQ/PQ sequence, with performance qualification confirming that the equipment holds its critical parameters across sustained batch runs before any commercial product was released from it.

The second line is a capacity and continuity investment: qualified, serialised and released under the same quality system that governs every Ergopharm batch.

Serialisation is built into the line rather than bolted on. Each pack carries a GS1 DataMatrix (ECC200) encoding the product identifier, expiry, batch and a unique serial, with aggregation of packs into cases and pallets recorded as EPCIS events. This keeps Ergopharm's oral solids ready for the traceability expectations of export markets, including unique-identifier and anti-tampering safety features and case- and pallet-level tracking.

For distributors, the practical effect is shorter lead times, steadier allocation on high-demand lines and the reassurance of a qualified second line reducing single-point dependency. The commissioning does not change any product's registration status, formulation or specification; it is a capacity and continuity measure.

Output from the new line will be monitored under continued process verification across its first commercial campaigns and folded into Ergopharm's ongoing Product Quality Reviews. Batch release remains subateng to Certificate of Analysis review and Qualified Person release, unchanged by the added capacity.
